Couple of new things here. For one, I actually bothered with a background! I actually had fun with the trees (well, until I had to colour the stupid things.) Also, I didn't ink before colouring. I've decided there are merits to both methods, although colouring is certainly made easier after inking. The softer lines work better for this particular picture, though.
This is (supposed to be, anyway) the mental image I get from this song:
I followed footprints in the snow,
Never knowing if I was right behind you,
Looking down no one would know,
I wasn't walking hand in hand beside you.
For your footprints lead the way,
To a hearth where hearts we made surround you,
You're awash in all its glow,
And I'm still standing in the snow.
I stood and watched the lights go out,
While the snowflakes settled all around me,
And though it filled my heart with doubt,
Couldn't move and this is where you found me.
As our footprints disappear,
Snow erasing how I came to be here,
I've got nowhere else to go,
Now you're standing in the snow.
Look for understanding in the snow,
You look just outstanding in the snow,
Standing in the snow.
Now it's almost Christmas Eve,
And I'm surrounded with the sound of laughter,
To give is better than to deceive,
For I received a happy ever after.
You might have left me in the cold,
A fitting ending for the fool that I was,
But you'd be cuddled up alone,
And I'd still be standing in the snow.

I'm disappointed in the way this scanned. The girl and the trees look okay, but the snow and the footprints look terrible. There's a lot of soft shading that just didn't come through. If I can get a better scan, I'll replace this later.
100 Picture Challenge prompt #84, "out cold." Yeah, yeah, I took some liberties.
Great work! Still lookes very good after the scan (though I may never know how much better it looked before) I really like it. Yay winter! But yeah, the colours are really good and the trees look great - as does the figure. Faved!
Ok, seriously, this is just...fantastic. The forest, her skirt, the footprints.
And don't worry, scanners hate colored pencils. I know it looks better than it does in the upload because the same thing happens to me. It's a shame, isn't it? *sigh* But it looks fabulous nonetheless.

Huzzah! This is pretty! I can still make out foot pronts... never having actually seen real snow up close and personal I wouldn't know about foot prints but if it's anythign like in the sand at the beach then maybe a little darker around them, (unless they were and the scanner ate it in which case I suggest physical violence.)

Yeah, there was a lot more snow detail, including shadows for the trees and the girl. The pale colours didn't come through though, I think mostly because my scanner hates me.

The trees look great too. I'm envious, I can never get trees right.
Thanks for the fav!
